So the last time I talked with you I told you that there was ice and snow going on in the Bluegrass. About 11:30 last night the power went off. It looked like a tree was on the main.
So at about four this afternoon, the decision was made to move us all to the Downtown Hilton.
The thinking was that we could have stayed at the center but without phone and electricity it was too dangerous.
So they gathered us up and here we are.
I must tell you, the Hilton has Select Comfort Beds. I am kind of looking forward to trying it out tonight.
The manager of the Hope Lodge is a very very nice young man. He told us that this situation was a first for ANY of the Hope Lodge's in the United States. They simply did not have a disaster plan in place.
I used to think that the weather guy on WLEX-18 was a nut because he freaked out every time there was a little snow. Now I see that Lexington is not prepared to handle it.
